Medical Advocacy

Please sign a petition on Action Network to pressure key players around the globe to take stronger action, on behalf of the international medical community, against attack on healthcare in Myanmar.

Action Items

GM4MD's medical advocacy campaign is mobilizing healthcare trainees and professionals (medical students, doctors, public health, nurses, etc.) around the globe to show solidarity for their colleagues on the ground and raise awareness of what is happening in Myanmar.

The campaign includes the following action items:

(1) Open letter pressuring key players around the globe to take stronger action, on behalf of the international medical community. This letter is on Action Network and open to individual and organization signatures.

(2) Support urgent emergency medical supplies and services needs: https://givebutter.com/JYXD52. Partners can boost donation efforts by hosting their own fundraisers (selling medical pins, stickers, etc)

(3) On April 19th, GM4MD Advisor, Sandra Mon, discussed public health and human rights violations during Burma’s Spring Revolution. You can watch a live recording of the event here: http://tinyurl.com/HealthMyanmarWatch

(4) On May 12th, join the #whitecoatstrike social media campaign. White coats serve as a symbol of the health care community. Doctors, medical students, nurses, public health practitioners, and any other medical professionals, post a picture of yourself in your uniform holding the three finger salute on your social media pages with the hashtag #whitecoatstrike.
