We have a prime window of opportunity to pressure Germany to take a stronger stance in the European Union Foreign Affairs Council meeting on the 19th of April.
During this meeting, the council will discuss further actions on the Myanmar military. While they have released statements stating that they are considering targeted sanctions, it is paramount that they enact targeted sanctions against military-owned companies, specifically companies belonging to the two major conglomerates – Myanmar Economic Corporation (MEC) and Myanmar Economic Holdings Limited (MEHL).
