The Burma Spring Benefit Film Festival presents a curated program of over 30 films from or about Myanmar (Burma), plus daily live talks featuring prominent activists and observers. Net proceeds from this festival will go to grassroots humanitarian organizations working in Myanmar in support of the non-violent democracy movement.


A Festival pass provides access to all the films and talks for a one-time donation (suggested minimum: US$30, but no one turned away). All the films are being provided to the Festival at no charge.

Join the Global Movement for Myanmar Democracy, the United Nations Association Film Festival, Wai Wai Nu, Beth Van Schaak, and an on the ground journalist featured in the documentary on 4/7 7 PM PDT | 4/8 8:30 AM MM time for a discussion of Oscar-nominated documentary: Burma VJ. 

Burma VJ focuses on the work of videographers and citizen journalists who defy the government's crackdown on the media during the Saffron revolution.

The US Advocacy Coalition of Myanmar (Burma) will hold a national virtual protest on March 20th, 2021 to show our rejection of the military coup and continuous support for the people of Myanmar. The protest highlights a unity among ethnic groups in the Burmese American community and through our collective voices, we will do any necessary means to support the people on the ground.

Culture Night!

This is a chance for all of us to reconnect with our ethnic and religious identities and reflect upon what it really means to be youth members of the Myanmar diaspora. Let us all help one another reinvigorate our sense of identity within ourselves as individuals, and within our communities as a whole!

Making Sense of Myanmar's Fight for Democracy

Join the Stanford Center for Human Rights and Global Movement for Myanmar Democracy for a discussion on the repercussions of the coup and subsequent protests in Myanmar. Our panel will make sense of the current state of affairs in Myanmar and the implications on democracy and human rights, such as women’s rights, government accountability, protection of vulnerable groups, migration policy, etc.
